Sato named to head Kadokawa Group Print E-mail

TOKYO -- Tatsuo Sato has been named prexy and COO of Kadokawa Group Holdings, the core company of the Kadokawa media group, the company announced on the 28th. Sato will take from the current prexy, Akio Honma, on April 1. Honma will remain with the company as a senior advisor. Also, the current chairman and CEO, Tsuguhiko Kadokawa, will retain his post.

Sato was appointed director of group company Kadokawa Media Office in 1986 and prexy of publisher Media Works, another Kadokawa company, in 1992. In addition to his current position as KGH director, Sato serves as prexy of the online store operator Chara-Ani, chairman of Media Works, prexy of mobile contents company Kadokawa Mobile, chairman of copyright management company Kadokawa Production and chairman and prexy of Media Leaves, the stock holding company of Kadokawa group publishers ASCII and Enterbrain.

Media Works, where Sato has served the longest, is a publlisher specializing in comics, pop fiction and games.
