Disney launches VoD in Greater China |

HONG KONG – The Disney Channel has begun its first subscription video-on-demand service in Greater China with the launch Monday of service on Hong Kong's Now TV platform.
Customers already taking the five channel Disney Special package costing HK$138 ($17.70) a month can add the new service for additional $1.92 a month.
"Disney Channel SVOD greatly enhances the Disney television experience for kids who already enjoy Disney Channel and Playhouse Disney in Hong Kong," Chris Williams, VP of business development for Walt Disney Television International (Asia Pacific), said.
SVOD service will include popular skeins "Hannah Montana," "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody," "That’s So Raven," "Kim Possible," "Lilo & Stitch," "American Dragon" and "Emperor’s New School." Popular "High School Musical" movie will be available at launch.
The Now debut is Mouse House's second on a Broadband Internet platform in Asia. Last month, Disney Channel Taiwan debuted full-length, Mandarin-dubbed and Chinese-subtitled programming streamed on www.disney.com.tw/DisneyChannel/video/
